Why SU Camps?
If you are checking out SU Qld’s wide range of camps and want a few reasons why to apply, here are 6 great reasons why we believe you will not regret jumping in.
Reason #1: Fun
Who would go on camp to have a boring time? Not us! Every one of our camps is action packed with activities that will make for a brilliant school holidays experience. Let’s see, there is tubing and water skiing, laser force, going to the beach, shopping, all sorts of sport, ten pin bowling, bands, variety shows, craft and music and dancing, computer gaming, tribal wars, theme parks … I think you get the picture!
Reason #2: Adventure
This is the part where you get up off the lounge or out from behind the computer and have a go at something new! Go to new places, swim new beaches or lakes, learn to go-kart, try singing or acting, become a tie-die fashion designer or experience the joy of scum attack! Get out there.
Reason #3: Safe
Around here we have a little motto about safe people and safe programs, so at SU Qld we put a lot of effort and care into making our camps safe for every participant and every activity. Our Camp Directors are well trained, prepared and supported by SU Qld staff to an industry best standard, used by SU across Australia and many other camp and campsite providers.

Reason #4: Friends
Many have made lifelong friends on an SU Qld camp! Meet new people from other schools, churches, suburbs and towns, and enjoy the new networks this opens up. Much better than just Facebook friends!
Reason #5: Leaders
Great camps are only possible with great leaders. All our leaders are trained, referee checked and accredited, and come on camp paying the same fees as the campers. They lead the way with laughs and fun, because they care about each student who attends and that they have the right to an amazing camp.
Reason #6: Our Approach
Because of our Christian world view we believe every single young person is unique and special, and so deserves to be treated as such. Nobody likes feeling alone or different or left out. We all want to know we matter in the world and that there is a reason for our life - to have hope for a great future.
SU Qld’s mission statement is to bring hope to a young generation, and we do this by modelling values on our camps that reflect our high regard for all people. To varying degrees our camps set aside time for discussions about faith and belief, to explain the reason behind this hope.
