Social media can give bullies the ‘courage’ to say what they wouldn’t say face-to-face.

“I don’t know how I would have coped without Chappy Bec,” says April

Watch April’s story…

When April was in Grade 10, school was an uncomfortable place for her. She struggled with friendships, was lacking motivation, and ultimately dropped out.

After 12 months away, April made a courageous choice and returned to school. She returned with a goal to chase her dream of becoming a paramedic, and to be the first of her siblings to graduate high school.

Her hopes rapidly faded as she was confronted with online bullying…

Thankfully, April survived and accessed support. One vital part of this support network was her school chaplain, Bec.

“Chappy Bec was there the day I came back to school. I just instantly felt how much she cared for me,” says April.

Amidst hospital trips, battling anxiety and depression, April found in Chappy Bec a caring and supportive presence who modelled the love and compassion of Jesus.

Sadly, families in hundreds of school communities don’t have this support.

Help us raise $411,000 before June 30 because young people like April need hope and support in times of crisis.
