On the road for chappies

Posted in High Court

As you may have heard, SU QLD is heading back to the High Court in May to defend federal funding for school chaplaincy. In light of this, and with the current funding cycle coming to a close at the end of 2014, it’s vital we continue to raise the profile of school chaplaincy and bring it before our Federal and State Governments.

In March, we’re hitting the road with the ‘Back Our Chappies Bus Tour’. Your prayers for this tour would be hugely appreciated as we travel the miles between our far-flung rural communities to raise awareness and support for school chaplaincy.

Over the course of three weeks, the SU QLD team will visit 20 towns and communities across Queensland, heading as far west as Mt Isa and all the way up to Cairns before returning to Brisbane. On the way, the team will be collecting thousands more Statements of Support.

Already, more than 68,000 signed statements have been returned to our Brisbane office… and with the new Federal budget and the High Court challenge both scheduled for May, the next few months are critical.

Please pray for God’s hand to be evident in the outcome of the case, and visit backourchappies.com.au to show your support and spread the word to your friends and loved ones.
