Spectacular SCHOOLIES Support

Posted in Camp life

Ross Gillam - St. George BankFather of three and Head of Retail Banking for Queensland & Western Australia at St George Bank, Ross Gillam, heard straight from the source about the fun on SU Schoolies.

“I was just really impressed when my kids went along and came back with so many stories of the fun they had and what a positive environment it was,” says Ross.

“As a parent, you have a lot of confidence knowing that your kids are actually going to have a fantastic time celebrating the end of 12 years of school, and can do this safely and in a really positive environment.”

“SU Schoolies provides a safe environment for young people and a positive environment too that’s drug and alcohol free unlike other Schoolies events.”

So when he found out that some of his staff members were involved in volunteering on SU Schoolies programs, he thought “how can I help out”. Ross donated a St George water bottle for each young person and a brand new iPad as a prize during the event.

“What we could provide was only small,” says Ross. But for those attending Schoolies, it made a big difference.

“I’d encourage businesses and individuals to support the SU Schoolies programs because they provide such a positive alternative,” says Ross.

SU QLD offers five different Schoolies options, and registration only covers a percentage of the overall cost to run these. In order to keep SU Schoolies accessible to all students, we need your support.

  1. What a wonderful thing to have these SU Schoolies options for kids with a positive Christian message and no alcohol and other drugs. Congratulations.
