SU QLD veterans still supporting today’s youth
Posted in Our heritage
Three sisters, Pearl Sander (90), Iris Reid (85), and Joyce Sander, who has now passed away, were first introduced to SU QLD in the 1930s, and, almost 80 years later, are still faithfully supporting SU QLD’s work.
The sisters were involved in SU QLD camps for many years, beginning in the 1940s. Camps were a little different back then, of course – they slept under canvas on corn bags filled with hay.
Pearl and Iris are still vitally interested in all that SU QLD does, and every week they pray for all the chaplains in the Toowoomba area. “SU QLD is so wonderful and I tell everyone about it,” Pearl says.
We are so grateful for all our friends, like you, who support the children and young people of Queensland. You are making history!
