‘Vanderfield’ Backing Our Youth

Posted in Business Partnerships / Supporter / Youth issues

This year marks the beginning of an exciting new fundraiser for regional school chaplaincy programs, in the inaugural Backing Our Youth campaign.

This is a chance to raise the profile of, and funds for, school chaplaincy across regional Queensland. And it is being led by renowned agricultural machinery business chain, Vanderfield.

Bruce Vandersee, CEO of Vanderfield, has been a long-term supporter of school chaplaincy.

He has a demonstrated personal commitment to building resilience in young people in the bush and believes that chaplaincy plays a crucial role in this.

That is why he is bringing his team of dealerships on board to help promote the cause of chaplains and seek to build ongoing reserves of sustainable funding for chaplaincy in years to come.

Backing Our Youth will raise $50,000 by 30 June 2016 for school chaplains in country Queensland.

This money will be raised primarily through the efforts of Vanderfield dealerships through the sale of tractors, t-shirts and donations.

The idea behind the campaign is simple.

People can buy items with a percentage of the sale going towards a cause they believe in – regional school chaplaincy. Vanderfield is supporting youth resilience through chaplaincy by sharing their profits from a variety of product lines.

The funds will be collected and managed by campaign catalyst, Artesian Foundation, and distributed to SU QLD chaplains through a grants process.

This support from Vanderfield will greatly benefit chaplaincy, through raising awareness and funds to support young people in regional and rural Queensland.

How you can help

  • If you live in a regional area, head into your local Vanderfield dealership and say thanks. While you’re there, they may just try to quote you on some new machinery too.
  • Let any farming families you know about this great cause because the more people that know about this campaign, the more dollars towards school chaplaincy programs.
  • And even if you’re not in a regional centre, you can still support regional school chaplains. There will be Backing Our Youth merchandise available, from February, online at backingouryouth.org.au, including t-shirts, stickers and more.

All of this merchandise contributes to the fund and helps spread the good news that we’re Backing Our Youth for a stronger future.
