Encouragement from the Scriptures

Posted in Bible Engagement / Prayer / SU QLD

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”  — Romans 10: 11-13

The gospel is universal!

In this passage Paul quotes part of Isaiah 28:16 pointing out that the cornerstone of God’s kingdom (Jesus Christ) has been laid in exactly the right position and exactly the right elevation.

The position of every other stone will be judged in reference to this cornerstone. Whoever believes in Him will be square, plumb, and level with the cornerstone. This is a universal principal, because the good news is intended for all.

Paul also quotes Joel 2:32 to proclaim the free offer of salvation through belief in Christ and knowledge of Him through relationship.

God’s free gift of love and salvation can only be known if we share it and show it.

You can see this in action through the work of SU QLD in camps and chaplaincy.

Together we can ‘bring God’s love, hope and good news to children, young people and their families’.

As it is written, ‘how beautiful are the feet that bring good news!’
