Campsite Assistant Casual

We are seeking a warm and friendly Casual Campsite Assistant with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a positive can-do attitude and proven experience in assisting the running of a campsite, prioritising tasks and projects. Working with the Campsite Supervisor, the main function of the role is to provide a high level of assistance in the practical day to day running of the campground. Under the director of the Campsite Supervisor, this would include venue maintenance, grounds maintenance, safety and security inspections, This exciting role would suit a Campsite Assistant who is eager to learn, is self-motivated and has a background in Buildings and Facilities Maintenance.

Scripture Union Queensland is a Christian not-for-profit with a heart for youth and children. We are the largest provider of school chaplains in Australia, and each chaplain is uniquely placed to support our children and young people as they navigate life’s increasingly complex issues. We run camps, community outreach events and At-Risk Youth programs, and offer nationally recognised training programs in youth work at both Certificate IV and Diploma levels.

This exciting role would suit a Campsite Assistant who is eager to learn, is self-motivated and has a background in Buildings and Facilities Maintenance.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Basic maintenance skills
  • Current drivers licence (Manual Transmission)
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Previous Fire Warden experience (desirable)
  • Pool Plant Operator Certification (desirable)
  • Power tool related certification (highly desirable)
  • Experience in maintenance services or trade experience / qualification (desirable)

Please note that due to the nature of the operational requirements, accommodation will be provided on-site and the Casual Campsite Assistant may be required to sleep on-site overnight and will be on call during the rostered period.

Flexibility is required to deliver an efficient service and the Casual Campsite Assistant may be required to work flexible hours, days and shift types, with on call responsibilities.

Field Development Manager - Central West Queensland Full Time

We are seeking a passionate and highly competent Field Development Manager with strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with churches, schools and volunteers. The Field Development Manager is responsible for leading the local delivery of SU QLD ministry through training, coaching and releasing both staff and volunteers into ministry opportunities within their district. This includes recruiting and managing a team of school Chaplains.

Working collaboratively with churches, schools and volunteers, a Field Development Manager is responsible for leading the local delivery of SU QLD ministry through training, coaching and releasing both staff and volunteers into ministry opportunities within their district.  This includes recruiting and managing a team of school Chaplains.

The ideal candidate will have

  • A minimum 3 years of experience leading a team preferably within a not-for profit environment
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma in Youth Work)
  • Demonstrated ability to network, build partnerships and strategic alliances with a broad range of people
  • A broad understanding of Christian youth and children’s ministry
  • Experience and involvement in community fundraising and involvement within the Education sector is also desirable

This role covers Gladstone, Southern Capricornia, Central Highlands and Central West districts of Central West QLD. Please note this role is based out of a home office with frequent travel expected. It is highly desirable for the Field Development Manager to be based within these districts.
